Administration Fee
To reserve an animal incurs a £5 administration
fee payable at time of reservation. This fee is in addition to any
donation made for adopting the animal and is non refundable.
At the Yorkshire Animal Shelter the animals come
first. Before any animal leaves the shelter, their prospective new
home must be vetted by one of our experienced home checkers. This
is to ensure that the right animal ends up in the right home.
The home check will also ensure that the new owners
understand what is involved in caring for that animal.
Please see the links below for the procedures regarding
the different types of animals -

Once the home visit has been done and agreed by
the welfare officer the adoption may proceed. Although we do not
charge for the animals a donation is required to help towards the
cost of caring for the animals (neutering, vaccinations, health
check, worming, flea/mite treatment and FIV/Leukemia tests). These
are minimum donations that do not even cover the costs of the animals
being adopted. Any help given over and above this goes towards helping
other animals in our care.
