Special Appeal for Katie

Katie has been at the shelter for over a year now. She came in as a pregnant stray from Beeston where she had been living rough for a long time. She gave birth to four kittens who have now all been re-homed. She can be a bit temperamental sometimes and so is often over looked. However, she desperately needs a home... can you help?

Thanks for all your support!

Our last Christmas Fair & Open Day was a huge success. We raised over £1800 which will be used to refurbish the pens over the winter months. Special thanks to volunteers Sarah & Adrian who organised the whole event. Their efforts are very much appreciated.

Special Thanks!

YAS would like to say a big thank you to the following companies/ organisations who donated various items to support our Christmas Fair & Open Day on the 6th December. We are extremely grateful for all their support.

- Harewood House

- West Yorkshire Playhouse

- Pets at Home, Guiseley

- Steven H Smith Garden Centre

- Purina Felix

- Leeds Brewery

Large animal volunteers needed

Due to a change in many of our volunteer's availability, we are now looking for more volunteers to help with our large animal duties during the week. We need people who can commit to at least one day per week (Mon - Fri) between 9am and 11:30am. Full training is provided so no previous experience necessary although it does involve being around horses and picking out their feet! Please get in touch if you are interested - either call the shelter or send us an email.

Open Day

YAS would like to say a big thank you to all its volunteers and supporters who helped to make their last open day on the 26th April their most successful yet. A grand total of £3,500 was raised which will be put to very good use, very soon!

Sad news

It is with regret that we have to announce that Buster the pig was put to sleep on the 20th February 2009. We would like to thank all her sponsors who have cared for her over the years by sending in regular donations. Buster was a true character and one that will be missed.
