Hi my name is Barney and I’m the mascot of YAS

You will see my photo on most of YAS leaflets. I came into the shelter with my brother Billy. We had to live on the streets fending for ourselves. It was a hard life but I was ok because I am tough but Billy was a bit of a softie so I had to look after him.

I’m not allowed to be homed because the boss says I have bad habits, personally speaking I can’t see what’s wrong with marking my territory, that’s what cats do!

But I’m not bothered, I have a great life at YAS. I live with Molly and Shorty in the stables. It’s great when visitors make a fuss of me, life is much easier here than on the streets.
